Water…Water???...Yes Water!!!

I hate extremities.
The way it is surging high some day,
And plunging down the other.
So I just take few steps back
From where the waves looks all most the same.
As some body has said - Problems are like little stones. If you keep them near the Eye, they hide your vision. However, if you keep them at a distance, you can see how small they are. (However the analogy drawn here is not cent percent accurate… please bear with me ;) )

I hate extremities.
The way it is warm and pleasant at one time,
And cold and bizarre the other.
So I am urged to take my feet off the waters,
The waters where the currents are zigzagging all the way.
I wonder what to do. For a while you are relishing the warmth and taken by the serene flow and are outstretched towards it. And the next moment it brings the cold jolts with it, that you are forced to move back.

It might appear
How cowardice… what a pity!
You might be wondering what happened to her. She is usually the adventurous the one who takes things head on… oh yeah, I am still the same.

I am not scared of waters.
It’s just that some waters are never meant to be crossed.
So why soak yourself into it?
Why feel the adrenaline and the depression?

from here it looks level...but deep within I know how it is.

Why I don’t know
But I am reminded of ‘The Ancient Mariner’ and his saying-
Water water everywhere, but not a single drop to drink.
Well that is exaggeration. I have managed few drops. But ye dil mange more… still, not at the cost of my own self.

I don’t approve of a free cruise (though it’s not free… :P )
When I don’t intend to be going to that destination.
Even if the journey promises me a high
That’s ME.
I won’t mind diving into the storm,
If that was, what was needed for me to reach my goal.

PS. – After many days I have written something directly from my core… and I am all ears to hear your views on the post (if you have any… :P … even if you don’t have any, you can mark your attendance here.. :D;D ).

  2. You know at times after reading a peachy blog, people go into a quandary mode and become speechless...as they don't think about commenting but delve on what they just read.

  6. Who told you i am not appreciating?
i liked the way you presented your ideas...but my views varies slightly...

    regarding the first Para...

i think you cannot escape from problems...when they come you have to face it...either willingly or unwillingly...you know the story of the ostrich foreseeing any danger it hides it's face in the sand...does in anyway it alleviates it's problems ? no

    regarding the second para...
    "I hate extremities.

my view on it...life cannot be smooth always...you have to bear extremities like you enjoy their smoothness...nevertheless i loved the you demonstrated your feelings via Water.

    regarding the 3rd para...
    "It might appear
    How cowardice… what a pity!
You might be wondering what happened to her. She is usually the adventurous the one who takes things head on… oh yeah, I am still the same."

i completely agree with you...no one can be flamboyant at all times...sometimes one has to take the back seat to see how things are going...it's not about cowardice...it's about intelligence... i liked this para too..:)

    next para....

"I am not scared of waters.
It’s just that some waters are never meant to be crossed.
So why soak yourself into it?
Why feel the adrenaline and the depression?"

i liked this one the most...and i completely agreed with you...in life we may come up to certain circumstances no matter how much we like/dislike...we should never cross roads which are not meant for us. there's nothing about depression in here it's all human.

    next para...

    "Why I don’t know
But I am reminded of ‘The Ancient Mariner’ and his saying-

Well that is exaggeration. I have managed few drops. But ye dil mange more… still, not at the cost of my own self."

yup...true...water ,water everywhere but not a drop to drink..there's also a term called destiny...even if there is something...which can be fetched but are not meant for us...at times they are all around us(though fetch-able) but we never see them...and if we intend to achieve which is not meant for us...we may loose whatever we have.i like this one too...:)

    finally the last one:-

    "I don’t approve of a free cruise (though it’s not free… :P )
When I don’t intend to be going to that destination.
Even if the journey promises me a high
    That’s ME.
I won’t mind diving into the storm,
If that was, what was needed for me to reach my goal."

i totally i agree with you here also...i would never take a path which is rewarding although it's not the one which i want...on the other hand am ready to face any hardship or criticism in a path which i think is my goal...this was also a nice one...

Overall...i liked it...and it's my take on the subject...please forgive me if i am being harsh ...and off course...i might go entirely wrong in my assumption of any or all the paragraph i.e., the meaning you meant to convey...!!!

  8. I am actually honored that you took time out to comprehend my scribblings. Hearty thanks for that ... :D

Now coming to the metaphor 'water' which has been used here...it actually has been used in two contexts:
    1) life...more specifically, my professional life
    2) extremist people...more specifically, the people who are very much attached to you one day and are like strangers the next day.

regarding the first and second para...

here you considered water to be life but it actually meant extremist people... :P now I am sure you'll agree with me.

btw thanks for your explanations...i liked them...and I would like to add that I am not escapist, I am a fighter (you would have known this, if you knew me personally).

this is the reason I wrote third para.

and you are right about fourth para... :-)
and while writing this para, i realized that it relates to my professional life also where I have left many opportunities for my dream job, IAF.

and from fifth para onward water means life...
and here you agreed with me...yipeeee you understood the remaining part correctly.

last para you analized it 100% accurately...this was exactly what i was thinking when I was writing this post.

and no you were not harsh in conveying your message...thanks a lot...and sorry for posting the reply late.
