After such a
long time in recent days has something touched me so profoundly that I felt the
urge to write it down. Lines so crisp and clear that everyone will understand
and agree. These lines also bring forth the strategy which I devised for myself
when I was in twelfth (ab lagta hai
bachpan k din the).
Those days
used to be simple... very simple....only a YES / NO was to be decided and you
are done. You had just two options right or wrong. But as the days moved on simplicity
gave way to complexity... Now you have a whole lot of things to worry about:
Family and
career (are always on the list… the new additions are)
Friends who
care for you
Friends who
show they care for you
Friends
& teachers whom you have to care for (it’s an obligation) and the list
rolls on...
NOTE: ye vichar kisi vyakti vishesh ko nahi darshate… :p
It was a bit
tough till I revisited myself...yes, the same old little myself, simple and
straight who cared for no one when she knew, she was right. This made almost
everything fall into place.
You must be
wondering, HOW??? So friends do...
Revisit
Yourself
When you get
what you want in your struggle for self,
and world
makes you king for a day.
Just go to a
mirror & look at yourself,
and see what
that man has to say.
For it isn't
your father or mother or spouse,
whose
judgment upon you must pass.
The fellow whose
verdict counts most in your life,
is the one
staring back from the glass.
Some people
might think you are a straight shooting chum,
and call you
a wonderful guy.
But the man
in the glass says you're only a bum,
if you can't
look straight in the eye.
He's the
fellow to please, leave out all the rest,
for he's
with you up to the end.
And you have
passed the toughest test,
if the man
in the glass is your friend.
You may fool
the whole world down your pathway of years,
and get pats
on the back as you pass.
But your
final reward will be guilt and tears,
if you have
cheated the man in the glass.
- Anonymous (I
am not the one who penned down these beautiful lines)
Yes if you
cheated yourself no one else will ever know but you'll do (hopefully...if you
are a genuine person). From my childhood days I have been taught-
A pillow of
clear conscience affords the soundest sleep.
If you look
the other way round... if you had too many options, how would you choose? Ask
papa or mama or anyone else. But none can answer perfectly as the path has to
be traversed by you, the goal has to be set by you, choices have to be chosen
by you… as at the end of the day you won't get the chance to travel again nor
it would be worth putting blame on your fellas who led you to that path.
So just rise face yourself and decide what is appropriate for you. As at the end you'll be revisiting yourself where you'll be just answerable to YOURSELF.
